Hygiene is two thirds of health.–Proverbs
A vagina needs daily hygienic attention as any other part of your body. It is supposed to have a mild scent and taste that varies from woman to woman that’s not offensive. Among others, the vagina and its health are influenced by clothing material and diet. Here are five easy feminine hygiene tips. They can be done on a daily basis. More importantly, they support a healthy vaginal ecosystem.
1. Cleanse with all-natural products
Wash away bacteria and hydrate your vulva with a plant-based vaginal cleanser. I absolutely love the Honey Pot. Their cleansers are infused with healing herbs and can be used daily. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about their products.
2. use ph-balancing wipes
When you use the washroom, after exercising or having sex, you want to be sure that you are clean. The best way to do this is with pH-balancing wipes. Keep them in your washroom and carry some in your purse. Make sure the wipes you select have all-natural ingredients like essential oils and contain no parabens or petrochemicals.
3. wear 100% cotton panties
Cotton is breathable and absorbs moisture, making it the perfect fabric for panties. With 100% cotton panties, you also have a reduced risk of bacterial growth. On the contrary, man-made fibers retain moisture which encourages yeast and bacteria growth that can lead to infections.
4. eat leafy greens
Too much alcohol, red meat, and sugar can wreak havoc on the body and produce an unpleasant vaginal odor. That’s because unhealthy foods are acidic and can therefore alter the normal pH level. Instead, eat more leafy greens and lots of fruits to reduce the growth of harmful bacteria in the vagina.
5. take probiotics
Lactobacillus acidophilus is the most researched strain of probiotic when it comes to establishing and maintaining a healthy vaginal balance. Fermented foods like yogurt and kefir contain live cultures and are a great source of lactobacilli. You can also take a daily probiotic supplement that’s formulated to protect our delicate area too.
