Four Easy Ways To Know If A Man Is Stringing You Along

Life is too short to waste on the wrong man

A man may genuinely need to take things slow. That’s to ensure that he is ready to commit to you. There is certainly nothing wrong with being cautious. Who wants a man that indiscriminately hands out engagement rings like lollipops? Other times, he may be stringing you along with no intention of committing in any event. Today’s dating world is filled with no shortage of deceptive people. Understandably, it can be hard to tell the talkers from the doers. This subject really fires me. And so, I put together a list of four ways to know if a man is stringing you along.

He will not allow things to get personal.

First, he does not introduce you to his close friends and family. These people do not even know you exist. Staying in and watching Netflix is also his idea of a great date night. He says he is crazy about you and cannot wait to be with you, but listen carefully. That is his libido speaking. Although sex with him may be hot as hell, that is all it is. He does not have the same level of excitement when your clothes are on.

He will not give your relationship a label.

Next, you have the right to know whether you and the guy you are seeing are an item or not. When he says he does not like labels, it means, “I do not want one for us.” and not that he does not like them. He wants to keep his options open and have the ability to date other women.

He avoids talks about the future.

A man who is stringing you along will become noticeably uncomfortable whenever you mention anything about the future. Generally, he is an expert at ducking the subject, and you can never rely on him to make long-term plans. A man in love wants you to be a play major part in his life — and will let you and the world know you are a priority to him as he sees you in his future.

He is emotonally unavailable.

Last, emotional unavailability can involve commitment and intimacy fears. You might participate in relationship behaviors with someone — go on dates, spend quality time together, meet each other’s friends, etc.—but he doesn’t want to talk about having an official relationship.

Listen to your instincts.

Ultimately, your instincts will tell you when you are being played. However, sometimes we women ignore our female intuitions because we want the relationship to progress to the next level. Moreover, we see the potential and how far things can go. However, we forget that potential is all in our fantasies. That’s unless our partners give us a good reason to believe otherwise. It may sound cliche. However, actions speak louder than words. You must always gauge the success of your relationship by the efforts being made instead of the potential it has. Knowing your worth will always help you avoid getting locked in a dead-end relationship you never wanted to have.
