“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new” – Socrates
About 40% of the U.S labor force is now working from home full-time. The new “working from the home economy” is expected to continue well past the pandemic that triggered it. What’s interesting is that without this sudden shift to working at home, the lockdown, probably would not have dragged on for so long. The economy would have crumbled to the ground, forcing people to return to the workplace, spiking infection rates. If you are not used to working from home, then you may need to invest in a few items though. Sometimes what you need is obvious, but other times you might need some inspiration from others in the same boat. Anyway, here are some must-have gadgets for your home office. Hopefully, they’ll help you lead a better and more healthy and productive remote working life.
Blue light blocking glasses
Research shows that overexposure to blue light at night through computers, tablets, and smartphones can cause a host of problems. They include, among others, eyestrain, premature aging of the eyes, and vision problems such as age-related macular degeneration. And so, now that people are spending more time at home on their computer devices and phones, blue-light-blocking glasses are trending. Recently, I purchased a pair. My only regret is not buying them years ago because my vision is blurry. I recommend SOJOS blue light blocking glasses.
On top of blocking blue light and UV light, preventing blurry vision, reducing eye strain headaches, and promoting better night’s sleep, these glasses are stylish compared to most.
Mini elliptical machine
Nearly 50% of women reported gaining weight because of COVID 19 restrictions. Most blamed lack of exercise followed by stress eating for their extra pounds. If you are one of those women, you can incorporate physical activity while working at your desk. That’s with The Cubii JR1 Seated Under Desk Elliptical Machine. It is a mini elliptical machine from Cubii that allows you to keep fit while sitting at their office desk. Designed with ergonomic needs in mind, this under-desk pedal exerciser will get you back on the road to fitness.
Smartpen
The NEWYES SyncPen 2 is a next-generation smartpen. It stores your handwritten notes and puts them in digital text for future use. You can also add a voice memo to them. This smartpen is, by far, an efficient way to take notes during meetings. What’s more, this pen’s capabilities are enhanced by a micro-camera that works with the designated 10” LCD pad or the NEWYES Notebook. You can’t beat that!
Ring Light
Women are feeling the pressure to look good during zoom meetings. Exhausted, many are not in the mood to put on full makeup. That’s only to remove it once the Zoom meeting is over. Flattering lighting can make a huge difference, though. It helps to smooth your skin’s appearance for an airbrushed look without the need for heavy makeup. The 10-inch Ring Light is an affordable must-have with a Bluetooth remote, and adjustable color temperature. This way you won’t have to feel self-conscious. The lighting will always be perfect for every video conferencing call.
